The Press department reports directly to the shift Foreman with the primary responsibilities of pressing and forming heads per job card using Furnaces and Die sets as specified. Follows company policy and procedures.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Comply with all Uni-Form Components Health, Safety and environmental policy and procedures.
- Reads, interprets and understands job cards
- Press and form Heads to job specifications
- Ensures documentation is complete and accurate in a timely manner.
- Maintains and inspect equipment, specifically checking hydraulic oil.
- Represent the company in a positive professional manner.
- Complies with company no-smoking in designated areas and no cell phone policy.
- Complies with company Housekeeping policies and standards to maintain a clean and orderly work station.
- Must meet all company quality standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Willingness to perform task in a fully competent manner.
- Ability to operate 500T, 1000T, 1500T, and 2000T Press.
- Is certified and demonstrates the ability to safely operate a lift truck up to 40,000 pound lifts capacity.
- Is certified and demonstrates the ability to safely operate an Overhead Crane.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools such as: grinder, hammer, wrench and pry bar.
- Accurately read a tape measurer
- Ability to communicate effectively both oral and written.
- Basic reading, writing and mathematics skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work well with others including all levels of management.
- Must have excellent attendance and punctuality
- High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred
- Minimum 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to work in most weather conditions including temperatures exceeding 100 degrees, below 50 degrees and rain or snow.
- Able to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach for extended periods of time on a daily basis.
- Able to push, lift and pull weights up to but not to exceed 50 pounds.
- Able to exceed 40 hours per week.
- Ability to wear proper PPE as required.
